How much does a translator (English-->Japanese, Japanese-->English) make? What qualifications do you need?

Besides having a B.A. in Japanese what else do you need as far as qualifications to become a translator for English to Japanese and vice-versa? I'm specifically talking about translating documents and such. Also how much do translators make? What are the ranges? Does it depend on the positions as translator? Please tell me what the positions are.|||You start with a BA degree in the language you want to translate from. Then you take courses in translation and/or interpreting, such as the ones approved by the American Translators Association (ATA):

Finally, you take the ATA certification exam or another equivalent certification exam.

The salary varies depend on where you want to work as a translator.|||Yes, and I would also recommend majoring in Japanese at UCSD.|||simply google these : "Salary of Translator" and "qualification for translator"
